All plants and trees require sunlight, water and nutrients from the soil in
order to grow. This is also true with regards to our spiritual life – our growth
will depend on whether we are getting our spiritual drink from the Source of Life
– Jesus. So even in the times of drought or times of testing, we still remain
strong in our faith in God.
It is our responsibility as believers to spend time with our Creator in prayer,
in reading His words through the Bible, through communion with fellow believers
and through service. If we dwell with Him, we will eventually bear the fruits
of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. The extent of our fruitfulness is directly related
to our faithfulness. If we are faithful to Him and His works, He will allow us to
grow abundantly, full of blessings and graces.
I have been serving God for more than 26 years now, but still God keeps pruning
away my pride and sinful habits that hinders my walk with Him. I made the
decision to change and offered my self to God constantly. He reminds us that apart
from Him we can do nothing - which is another way of saying that with Him we can do
all things.
I encourage everyone to make a decision to abide in God so that together, we
will grow in our walk with the Lord.
