Lessons to Think About: Discipleship

"If anyone hears me calling and opens the door, I will enter his
house and have supper with him, and he with me." - Revelations 3:20
A disciple of Jesus is a person who is trying to respond to the personal
invitation of Jesus to be His friend and follower. Jesus first encourages us to “come and
see” who He is and what He stands for. Then He asks for a deeper dedication: "Come, follow
me.” A disciple strives to be like Jesus, to imitate Him, to enter into a kindhearted
understanding with Him so that he can eventually be identified with Him. This relationship
with Jesus must be internal rather than just external.
