2009 CMPYC Retreat Form
Monday, June 29, 2009
The form for the 2009 Summer Youth (CMYPC) Retreat is now available below:
For more information, please refer to the following message prepared by Ramon Villegas:
Hello Everybody,
2009 Summer Youth Retreat is fast approaching.
We would like to determine the exact number of attendees ASAP since many of our members' outside friends would like to join the retreat as well.
So, please take a short moment from your precious time to do the following for the benefit of everybody:
- Print the form and fill up all the necessary information.
- If you have 2 or more youngsters who will attend the retreat, individual form must be prepared for each one of them
- Age group of participants is limited between 12 and 20 years old
- Submit the form/s to anyone of us (Ramon, Rolly, Frolin, Fidel) on or before July 5 (Sunday)
A $50 fee should not be your excuse for not letting your son/daughter join the Retreat. That is why, we have a fund raising event (ie. Food Fair) that will take place on July 5 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm at the Canadian Martyrs, we need volunteers in this event - you and your family may volunteer.
If you intend to write a check, please make it payable to CANADIAN MARTYRS PARISH and write in the memo portion, "Youth Summer Retreat".
For further questions, please refer to the form for contact information.
This retreat is for the spiritual benefit of our youth. They all need it especially during this time when negative peer pressures and current technology compromise their faith.
Regards!
Ramon
8th Anniversary Picnic - Golden Ears Provincial Park
Monday, June 8, 2009
The CMPC 8th Anniversary Picnic will be held this coming Saturday, June 13, at the
Golden Ears Provincial Park, Maple Ridge. Feel free to invite your friends to join our
group.
Please take note of the following (sent by Ramon Villegas):
- For exact directions to the park, print the following attachments (all of them please)
- We will hold our picnic at the Alouette (South-Beach) DAY-USE area.
Remember, Golden Ears is a huge place. There are campsites and other facilities
around so we want everybody to find the exact place.
- The picnic tables are not covered. They are available to every visitor
on a first-come-first-serve basis. So, come early and reserve the area for our
group.
- The use of picnic tables is free. Parking lots are available with pay ($3.00
whole day parking).
- Sorry, crabbing is not available. But fishing with license is allowed.
- Our target time to be there is 8:30 AM. Travel time is around 1.5 hours
(if without traffic). We suggest that everybody will leave Richmond at around 7:00
AM.
- Going there in convoy - call up anybody you want to be with and arrange among
yourselves your meeting place.
- Please bring the following:
- Food for everybody to share (potluck)
- Swimming gears
- Rubber shoes - if you will do hiking
- 2-way portable radio (we will tune-in on channel 10). There might be no cell signal.
- Portable beach chairs
- Mat or banig (whoever wants to sleep)
- Table games (e.g., Playing cards)
- Outdoor games (e.g., Volleyball)
- Battery operated CD cassette radio - we don't have any power outlet there.
God bless and see you all there!
